A portion of the the City of Denton, Town of Little Elm, City of Roanoke and City of The Colony Councils and the Lewisville ISD School Board are comprised of single member districts. All other jurisdictions elect members at-large. Most use a place system.
LWV Denton invites candidates to answer questions through an email invitation. No email, no invitation. The League encourages voters to examine the Application for a Place on the Ballot for other methods of contacting a candidate. The League encourages voters to advocate for jurisdictions to comply with HB 305 (2019).
LWV Denton does not send invitations to incumbents using jurisdiction email addresses.

Texas' even year November ballot is determined by a nomination process either by election or convention. Subject to changes from the 2023 legislative session the next Primary Election will be March 5, 2024. In 2024 the Democratic and Republican parties are required to nominate by election. The Green and Libertarian parties nominate by convention. The convention day will be March 12, 2024. Voters may participate in only one party's nomination process.

Candidate information is input by the chair or their designee of the various parties. Candidates whose office sought crosses county lines file with the state party chair. Candidates whose office lies entirely within a county file with the county party chair.
No other election may be held on primary election day or subsequent runoff.
Texas odd year November ballot is typically for the purpose of amending the state constitution. Other elections may be held on this uniform election date.
